Danceworks berlin is recognized by the Berlin Senate and holds the title of “State recognized Professional Vocational School”. This allows students to apply for state funding which is available through BAföG §9a.

Danceworks berlin focuses on a shared interest in dance, composition and performance. The 3 year education program offers a wide range of traditional modern and contemporary dance techniques. Classical Ballet, floor-barre, body conditioning, partnering and coaching are given to support and strengthen your technical ability. Your creative and individual potential will be developed through a deep exploration of movement in improvisation, contact improvisation, dance composition, and choreography, which are given throughout the 3 years.

There are numerous opportunities to develop stage and performance experience throughout your education program. Student performances are held several times a year, and you will have the opportunity to choreograph various independent school projects to develop your choreographic skills. You will also work in performance projects choreographed by fellow students and guest teachers. To further develop your interests, theory classes are directly related to dance, these include Anatomy, Dance Management, Dance History, and Dance Theory.

You will be guided and inspired by our faculty and guest teachers who are of the highest international standard, enabling you to be ready to face the challenge of a dance career and perform at your best.
