Are you seriously considering a career in dance, but don’t know how to prepare for it? Danceworks berlin offers a 5 month preparatory education program to enable you to prepare yourself for a future professional educational program. Our program is called “Dance as a Profession”.

You may participate if you are 16 years of age and older, even if you don’t have much dance experience in modern dance, classical ballet or jazz dance, beginners are welcome. If you are ready to make a commitment to dance and you are physically fit enough for a demanding program, our Preparatory Program is what you have been looking for.

Our 5 month program, beginning in February and September, is devoted to acquiring, strengthening and understanding strong basic technique skills. You will also learn to build speed at picking up combinations and how to maintain top physical condition. Your individual potential to express yourself will be nurtured. All of our teachers are professional dancers and have years of pedagogical experience, working with our 3-year education program and preparing students who wish to audition for a dance education program.

A variety of modern dance courses based on Lester Horton technique, Martha Graham technique, Merce Cunningham technique, and Release technique are included  in the program. Classical Ballet, Jazz dance, Improvisation and Composition are also offered. In addition, Floor-Barre and Body Conditioning for dancers are offered to improve your placement, flexibility, strength and to learn how to prevent injury.

Classes are held Monday through Friday from 5:00 till 8.30 pm. A total of 10 classes are given weekly.
