DANCEWORKS berlin is granting scholarships for the Junior Education Program. Therefore we are holding an open audition on
Saturday, 25th September 2010 at 10 am.
All boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17 can participate. We are giving out a scholarship to a boy and a girl. The scholarship entitles you to take part in all dance courses for free. A registration is neccessary so if you would like to take the audition for the scholarship please register at:

<0}{0>Die jungen Teilnehmer/innen erhalten eine abgerundete Tanzausbildung, in deren Verlauf verschiedene Stile, wie klassisches Ballett, Modern Dance, Jazz und Street Dance unterrichtet werden.<}100{>DANCEWORKS berlin offers a training program for young dance students (between the ages of 12 and 17) who want to pursue dance as a serious hobby or as a professional career. Young participants will acquire a well-balanced education at DANCEWORKS, in which different techniques, such as Classical Ballet, a variety of Modern Dance, Jazz and Street Dance Furthermore, are taught. Classes are held daily in the evening, and participation in at least four classes per week is recommended. Our faculty gladly assists students to create their individuaity to advance their work from the classroom to the stage under close supervision. All our teachers at DANCEWORKS, berlin are qualified, with many years of teaching and stage experience.

Wendy Taylor (Ballett)
Wendy Taylor wurde in Kent, England, geboren. 1977 begann sie ihre Ballettausbildung an der Legat School of Ballet in Sussex, England. Als Teil der schulischen Dance Company performte sie drei Jahre lang am "The Sadler's Wells Theatre" in London.Nach Abschluß ihrer A-Levels wechselte sie an die London Contemporary School of Dance. Sie absolvierte ein einjähriges Intensivprogramm in Martha Graham und Merc Cunningham Techniken. Ihre Leherer waren unter anderem Jane Dudley und Viola Faber. Weiteres Training erhielt Sie durch Robert Emblem, Henry Danton, and Maralyn Miles. Als Mitbegründerin des erfolgreichen Projekts Dance in Motion, welches modernen und klassischen Tanz kombinierte, tanzte Wendy Taylor in vielen europäischen Städten. Wendy tanzte und unterrichtete vor allem in den USA (Miami, Washington, New York, Connecticut), zwei Jahre in Sao Paolo, Brasilien, und ein weiteres in Nairobi, Kenia.In Connecticut tanzte Wendy mit dem Staten Island Ballet, wirkte an vielen regionalen Tanzprojekten und Workshops mit. 1997 mitbegründete sie die Roxbury Dance Academy in Stamford, Connecticut, und leitete diese bis 2000. Wendy unterrichtet zur Zeit in dem Ausbildungsprogramm von Danceworks berlin und an anderen Schulen in der Stadt. Wendy ist Mitglied der Dance Educators of America.
Eric Dunlap (Modern)
This class follows the technique of Alwin Nikolais, a pioneer of modern dance known for creating visual spectacles. His analytical approach to dance broke down the form into basic elements of shape, space, time, and motion -- tools which can be used to train the body for performance, improvisation, and composition. Taught by former company member Eric Dunlap, the class progresses from a structured floor warm up to movement phrases that travel through space. Eric is a NYC based dancer/choreographer who uses the skills from the technique to create movement and interdisciplinary works, continuing the Nikolais tradition with his company Forward Motion Theater. In addition to his work with the Nikolais Company, he has also worked with the Metropolitan Opera, Peter Pucci Plus Dancers, Pilobolus, The Perks DanceMusicTheatre, and Sarah Skaggs/Higher Ground. As always, moving forward...

Tickets for the graduation performance at the Max-Taut-Aula on 15th May 2010 are now available.
Tuesdays through Friday in the office at DANCEWORKS between 4 pm and 7 pm or at the Max Taut Aula on the evening of the performance. There is no resevations possible.

Graduation performance 2010
It is time!
Our graduation class will be showing their graduation pieces this year on
The faculty and students at DANCEWORKS berlin would like to invite everyone interested in dance to our Open House on Sunday, 25th April 2010 at 11 am.
We are starting off with a special performance for children “Alice in Dance Wonderland”. Our graduation class is performing and guiding you through the world of dance introducing a variety of dance techniques and styles.
Directly after “Alice in dance wonderland” our students will be showing a series of lecture demontrations.
At the end of the day at 2.45 pm there will be an open Jazz class for anyone who would like to try out some fantastic new dance moves.
Of course coffee and cake will be served.
We look forward to seeing you all at our Open House 2010.
